YTL Communications Sdn Bhd announced today the launch of Yes World (http://world.yes.my), a news and entertainment portal that showcases content, photos, videos, tweets, blog posts, and links on the latest local and world events. The site, which is available via web and mobile devices, is powered by technology from Daylife, a media-as-a-service company that helps publishers optimize and accelerate their content production.

The launch of the portal coincided with YTL Communications’ historic introduction of Yes 4G, the world’s first fully converged 4G mobile Internet service with voice.

Commenting on the portal launch, YTL Communications CEO Wing K. Lee said, “We started our amazing 4G journey with the launch of our Yes 4G Mobile Internet with Voice service, on November 19. Yes 4G brings together the world of mobile Internet and voice communications, and this news and entertainment portal complements the mobile lifestyle and convergence needs of the consumers. Daylife’s tools allowed us to put together a customer portal with intelligently aggregated content and a great user experience.”

To power the portal, YTL Communications used Daylife products, including SmartGalleries, SmartTopics, and the Platform API. Yes World is a uniquely aggregated homepage for Yes subscribers and features integrated search, news from hundreds of thousands of sources, and convenient links to and information about other Yes products and services.

“We’re thrilled to support YTL Communications in their launch of the world.yes.my portal,” said Daylife CEO Upendra Shardanand. “As technology pioneers, YTL Communications is committed to serving its customers with the most powerful technology and dedicated service. Daylife is excited to help them bring the best news and entertainment coverage in the world to their growing community.”

Yes World is primed for fast growth, and future plans include integrating more original content, key partnerships, and new user experiences for Malaysians.
